Adidas Originals by White Mountaineering Spring/Summer 2017

The latest #adidas Originals collaboration with Japan's White Mountaineering was unveiled yesterday in a show inParis that merged adidas' iconic heritage and Yosuke Aizawa's creativity and technical skills. It was a two-part showfeaturing first the standalone White Mountaineering collection, followed by the #adidas Originals by WhiteMountaineering collaboration.

The collection was a celebration of classic #adidas Originals styles and archives seen through the #fashion forwardprism of Mr. Aizawa. The brand's trademark three stripes were reinterpreted as a triangle representing a mountain,while tracksuits inspired by the 90s were taken to the next level thanks to White Mountaineering's technical take onfabrics. Gore-tex, Primeknit and reflective 3 stripes brought an avant-garde feeling to retro-inspired pieces such aswindbreakers and football-influenced tracksuit bottoms, but also grunge-infused dresses.

It was a directional take on urban outerwear inspired by today's urban nomads, uniting form and function, city to city(a wink to that concept was made through statement t-shirts printed with names of capitals around the world). Theshow was also the opportunity to introduce new footwear silhouettes such as the NMD_R2, the EQT Support Futureand the NMD City Trail, as an avant-garde counterpoint to the vintage-inspired collection. Classic models like theCampus 80 are also still integrated into the footwear offering. Colour was introduced in the last part of the showthrough crimson and navy ensembles bringing together the logos of #adidas Originals and White Mountaineering.

The collection embodies #adidas Originals design direction and dedication to style as well as White Mountaineering'spioneering aesthetics and technical prowess to create a streetwear uniform with sportswear and function at itscore.

#adidas Originals by White Mountaineering SS17 collection will be on sale globally beginning January 2017 in adidasOriginals flagship stores, online and in selected retailers. There will be a separate drop in March 2017.
