Red Bull #batalladelosgallos world champion goes past 24 hours in Madrid.
Arkano made history in front of 24,000 adoring fans at the iconic Puerta del Sol de Madrid on Saturday when he managed to break the English and Spanish language freestyle rap world records.
The 22-year-old rapper and computer science student won his first Red Bull #batalladelosgallos national title at the tender age of 15.
After getting in his flow nice and early, the Alicante native managed to pass the hours just by existing on protein shakes and gels.
Not only that, he didn’t stop for more than three consecutive seconds, which was made easier after he successfully completed two 10-hour practice runs.
After just 11 hours of enjoyable improvisation, Arkano already surpassed the Spanish-speaking record but his ambition was to go as far as he could.
American rapper Murs recently got as far as 24 hours and 15 minutes, however Arkano went way further before ending his mammoth rhyme session at an incredible 24 hours, 34 minutes and 27 seconds.
Arkano wasn’t alone - several different guests were present around the crystal box specifically built for this #event, and some of them even enjoyed the luxury of getting in and interacting with him.
“Oh s**t/ Mariam, you did it again / You’re really one of the greatest / and you deserve a farewell worthy of a great”, he dedicated to Mariam Hernández, one of his first visitors.
Thousands of people sent images and proposals to Arkano about subjects using #retoarkano24h.
Several video calls and other material from different global personalities such as Jorge Cremades, Chilean offroad motorbike ace “Chaleco” López and Argentine rival MC D-Toke were of great importance.
As dawn approached he joked, “Can you imagine that I get stuck? / That I may end up expressing myself only through improvised verse, from now on?”
Arkano will now start preparing himself to successfully defend his Red Bull #batalladelosgallos crown in Peruvian capital Lima on November 12th.
