Bianchi MTB Team extends deal with Tempier and Teocchi

Team Bianchi Countervail extended contracts with Elite Stephane Tempier and Under 23 Chiara Teocchi for 2017 and 2018 seasons. The French rider from Gap, turning 31 next March 5th, signed a two-year agreement and is ready to start his eighth season with Bianchi MTB Team. Bronze medallist at the XCO French Championships, Tempier achieved six wins in 2016 including the Internazionali d'Italia Series' GC, a Coupe de France VTT stage and the Gimondibike. Furthermore, he was second at Roc d'Azur and fifth at the Worlds in Nove Mesto and Vallnord's World Cup round.
Born on December 8th, 1996, Teocchi already start ed her eighth season with the Bianchi MTB Team. In 2016, she added new laurels to her palmares by topping the Under 23 Women's XCO Italian title, the Under 23 European Cyclocross title and the Internazionali d'Italia MTB Series GC, and the Italian Cyclocross Under 23 Championships in Silvelle di Trebaseleghe, a few weeks ago in January. In 2014 Teocchi had clinched a gold and a silver medal at the Youth Olympics in Nanjing.
TEMPIER: "WELCOME FONTANA: WE CAN AIM HIGH"
"My main goal are the World Championships, the French National champs and of course to step on the podium in World Cup rounds. I want to be in a good shape already in Nove Mesto's opening round" Stephane announces. Tempier's teammate in the 2017 Elite squad will be Marco Aurelio Fontana: "We are a short in numbers, but we have plenty of international experience. Fontana and I can fight for the top positions in the biggest fixtures around" the rider from Gap added. Tempier considers Fontana's signing "important for the team and for us as athletes. He's a strong experienced rider, and also very effective on the media side. I be on hand for advice on the Bianchi bikes setup, since I made quite a knowledge for myself in this eight-year span.”
TEMPIER AND METHANOL: “AN EXCELLENT FEELING”
Tempier and his teammates will ride the revolutionary Methanol CV engineered with Countervail technology and the Methanol FS. "We are supplied with two super bikes and I quickly found a good feeling with both. The Methanol CV is a stiff bike with great control, thanks to the Countervail vibration cancelling technology".
TEOCCHI: "BIANCHI IS MY PLACE: LET'S WIN AGAIN"
"I'm really happy for this two-year renewal. Bianchi is my second family: after seven years, I know everybody here. After the experience in the Junior Team with Andrea Ferrero, I built great relationships with Team Manager Massimo Ghirotto, President Felice Gimondi and the whole staff. I'm also happy for Fontana's signing: he will help me to grow further. I'll try to reward the team's trust by riding to important victories these beautiful Bianchi bikes".
GHIROTTO: "TEMPIER AND FONTANA, A TOP-LEVEL DUO. TEOCCHI IS OUR FUTURE"
Team manager Massimo Ghirotto trusts in Tempier, a rider he brought back to Team Bianchi Countervail last year: "Stephane belongs in the World’s top-10 in XCO, and he has already proved he can aim for the Worlds' podium. He's a pragmatic rider and will treasure the previous experiences to give consistency to his results. I'm sure the Tempier-Fontana duo will give us plenty of satisfactions". Ghirotto also shows satisfaction about Teocchi's extension: "Year after year, Chiara is showing an impressive athletic maturation. Andrea Ferrero raised a pragmatic rider with high ambitions in offroad cycling. Of course, we will keep on investing on her. As every young rider, she has to work a lot to further improve herself, but the success at CX Europeans clearly speaks volumes about what Chiara wants and her potential to get it".
THE 2017 RACING KIT
After a new signing in Marco Aurelio Fontana, Team Bianchi Countervail also presents a new official uniform for 2017, produced by Santini Maglificio Sportivo. Featuring the iconic Bianchi celeste as dominant color, the new jersey shows black and carbon look inserts.
