Jordan Brand pays tribute to Russell Westbrook's milestone season

Jordan Brand family member #russellwestbrook now owns the record for most triple-doubles. The achievement underscores an undeniable reality: Westbrook is in the midst of one of the greatest individual seasons in NBA history.
The #jordanbrand stands for greatness, so it’s no surprise that Michael Jordan himself sees a kindred spirit in Westbrook, who continues to defy expectations.
“The spirit he plays with can control the energy of an entire game,” says Jordan. “He’s willing to take advantage of every opportunity to help his team win.”
Tonight, #jordanbrand honors Westbrook and his “Why Not?” drive to win with a commemorative “Big 0” spot and a special set of player exclusive shoes coined the #airjordan XXXI Why Not?. The spot pays tribute to Westbrook and the previous record-holder, the great Oscar Robertson, through a mashup of highlights of the two dynamic players set to the legendary song “Higher Ground” by Stevie Wonder.
The #airjordan XXXI Why Not? PE combines classic elements from the AJ III PE, first worn by Westbrook on-court in 2013. The silhouette features the iconic black cement colorway with modern materials and a unique Westbrook-specific construction.
RETAIL AVAILABILITY
The #ajxxxiwhynot will release April 29 at select Jordan retail locations and jordan.com. As a complement to the shoe, the Why Not? apparel collection is available now on jordan.com.
