New international ambassadors and extended partnership with French tennis federation: Peugeot underlines its dedication to tennis

For 33 years, #peugeot has partnered the French Open and been the tournament’s official car supplier. Since 2016, the brand has also been a Platinum partner of the ATP World Tour as well as the event’s official car supplier. Now, #peugeot has underlined its major role in #tennis worldwide with a fresh team of international ambassadors, an extended partnership with the French Open, and tennis-themed entertainment using virtual reality at #peugeot Avenue Paris.

New international ambassadors

In 2017, #peugeot is bringing together an international, intergenerational team of fifteen ambassadors to promote the brand’s new #tennis strategy: “New Generation, New Sensations”. Fourteen international #tennis players will unite under the auspices of a prestigious mentor: the Brazilian Gustavo Kuerten. These players are:

  • Lucas Pouille, Gilles Simon, Jérémy Chardy, and Alizé Cornet for France
  • Alexander Zverev for Germany
  • David Goffin for Belgium
  • David Ferrer, Fernando Verdasco, Pablo Carreño, Roberto Carballés, and Nicolas Almagro for Spain
  • Jamie Murray for the UK
  • Juan Martin Del Potro and Leonardo Mayer for Argentine

For the French Open, two teasers and a film will publicise this new team and the brand’s new signature in the #tennis world.

Extended partnership with the French Open

The brand is extending its partnership with the FFT (French #tennis federation) in 2017. #peugeot has become a premium partner of the French Open, making it one of the tournament’s three key partners alongside BNP Paribas, the event’s official sponsor, and Emirates, which is also a premium partner of the French Open. The brand has thereby become more visible, on the side panels, at the court-end gaps behind the players, and on the net support equipment.

Not only is #peugeot a Platinum partner of the ATP World Tour but it is now the official car supplier for over thirty tournaments on the ATP World Tour circuit. From 14 to 21 May at the Italian Open, around hundred official cars will be made available for the players, VIPs, officials, and general public. The new #peugeot 3008 and 5008 SUVs will also be exhibited.

The French Open comes to #peugeot Avenue Paris

Until the end of June, #peugeot Avenue Paris is also embracing #tennis amidst the enthusiasm surrounding the French Open. With a virtual-reality headset and controller, visitors can play a 3D #tennis match in the remarkable surroundings of the new covered centre court (Court Philippe Chatrier) of the Roland Garros stadium complex as a sneak preview. They can then share their experience on social media.

In a clay-court setting, visitors can also discover French Open spin-off products and admire the new #peugeot 3008 and 5008 SUVs, which are also part of the official vehicle fleet for chauffeuring players at the French Open.
