Bangkok, December 2015―The victorious Thai Buriram United team celebrated their win as they were crowned champion of the #toyota Mekong Club Championship's (TMCC) 2015 season on December 21. Their triumph was no easy feat. As Head Coach Alexandre Torreira Da Gama Lima said, "We knew the Cambodian side would be strong on the counter, and I had told my players there are no easy games at this level." Nevertheless, with a winning score of 1-0 against the Cambodian Boeung Ket Angkor FC, the #toyotamekongclubchampionship 2015 ended in success for Buriram United.

It was a joyous occasion as President Kyoichi Tanada of #toyota Motor Asia Pacific and Thailand, conveyed his congratulations to Buriram United. Mr. Tanada praised all of the teams for their "exemplified passion and sportsmanship befitting of champions." The sportsmanship ethos displayed by the participating teams was, in itself, worthy of pride, and also further encouragement for Toyota's objective of enriching the lives of those living in countries in the Mekong region.

TMCC was inaugurated in 2014 by #toyota, under the #toyota Mekong Football Project (MFP), with dual aspirations in mind. Firstly, #toyota hopes to channel the passion and energy inherent in football to demonstrate the company's unceasing pursuit to create ever better cars for customers. Secondly, #toyota wishes to reinforce the desire of the company to be a Best Partner of the Mekong region countries, such as Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Thailand. What goes around, comes around, and by being a Best Partner, #toyota also hopes to help make football even more accessible to aspiring football players and fans of the #sport.

Toyota has continuously partnered with local communities to contribute to the development of education, the environment, and of general social welfare. To date, the company has pursued more than 280 such development initiatives. Besides the current sponsorship for TMCC, #toyota has sponsored the #toyota Eco Youth Project in Malaysia and Indonesia, as well as the #toyota School Environment Project in Pakistan.
