KAPALUA, Maui, Hawaii, Jan. 6, 2016 –
The Road to Kapalua has led back to the PGA TOUR's #hyundai Tournament of Champions, the winners-only #event that begins this week in Maui. Held at the famous Plantation Course at the Kapalua Resort, the field is one of the best in years, with 32 PGA TOUR winners teeing it up.

This includes 6 of the top 10 players in the Official World Golf Rankings and the winners of all four majors – Jordan Spieth (U.S. Open, Masters Tournament), Jason Day (PGA Championship) and Zach Johnson (The Open Championship). Joining them will include a long list of the game's best players, including defending champion Patrick Reed, Jimmy Walker, Bill Haas, Brooks Koepka, Brandt Snedeker, Dustin Johnson, J.B. Holmes, Rickie Fowler (THE PLAYERS Champion), Bubba Watson, Kevin Kisner and Justin Thomas, among others.

"There isn't a better place in the world to begin the New Year, and continue to build Hyundai's growing connection with golf fans and share the dynamic vehicles in our lineup," said Dean Evans, chief marketing officer, #hyundai Motor America. "Hyundai and the PGA TOUR also share a deep commitment to charity and we are again looking forward to helping many local organizations make a difference in the community."

The #hyundai Tournament of Champions is centered on giving back. Since the tournament's inception in 1999, the tournament and its host organizations have donated more than $5.3 million to Maui community charities and that will only grow in 2016.

For the fourth year in a row, Hyundai's non-profit organization #hyundai Hope On Wheels is hosting a 5K Run/Walk in conjunction with the Tournament of Champions. The Run/Walk, now the biggest on Maui, will take place on Saturday, January 9 at 7:30 a.m. at Whalers Village in Kaanapali. As part of this 5K #event, #hyundai Hope On Wheels will also grant a $50,000 Impact Award to the Kapi'olani Medical Center. Since becoming title sponsor, #hyundai Hope On Wheels has donated more than $550,000 to the Kapi'olani Medical Center to help in the fight against pediatric cancer.

Back again this year, #hyundai is making it possible for a player's caddie to win a new car. This is the only tournament on the PGA TOUR that a player has a chance to win a car for both himself and his caddie by making a hole-in-one. If a player makes a hole-in-one on the 8th hole, he will win a 2016 Genesis for himself and his caddie will win a 2016 Santa Fe Sport.

During the tournament week, the PGA TOUR players will drive Hyundai's flagship Genesis sedan or Santa Fe around Maui. These #hyundai vehicles, as well as the all-new Sonata Plug-in Hybrid, Santa Fe, Azera, and the Tucson Fuel Cell vehicle will be featured throughout the Plantation course and Kapalua resort. The winner of the #hyundai Tournament of Champions will walk away with a brand-new Genesis.

Hyundai is in its sixth year as title sponsor of the #hyundai Tournament of Champions and the #event is a significant part of Hyundai's global sports marketing strategy. The tournament matches the world's passion for golf with the company's own competitive drive and loyal customer base. In recent years, #hyundai has expanded its golf properties by creating the #hyundai Invitational. As part of the tournament series, #hyundai partners with 50 well-established charity tournaments around the country. Two winners from each tournament go on to compete at the #hyundai Invitational National Final for a chance to win a trip to the #hyundai Tournament of Champions.

Hyundai is also the official vehicle of the CareerBuilder Challenge in partnership with the Clinton Foundation and vehicle partner for the Farmers Insurance Open. With these sponsorships, PGA TOUR players drive #hyundai vehicles in three out of the first four PGA TOUR events in the 2016 calendar year. To take advantage of these sponsorships, #hyundai for the first time held the Ultimate Pro-Am Experience sweepstakes where one winner gets the opportunity to play in the Pro-Am of all three of these tournaments, starting this week at the #hyundai Tournament of Champions. Information on all of Hyundai's golf programs can be found at HyundaiGolf.com.

The tournament begins with the Pro-Am on Wednesday, January 6, continuing with four rounds of professional competition Thursday, January 7 through Sunday, January 10. The Golf Channel will broadcast all four days of competition live.
