Since #ajinkyarahane debuted for Team India in 2011, he's experienced the full spectrum of ups and downs — from a forgettable first test game, in which he managed only a handful of runs, to gradually becoming one of the country’s most consistent batsmen, highlighted by eight centuries in the last two years.

Rahane's relentless determination and aggressive batting style have also made him one of India's most recognizable players, but his on-field persona is a stark contrast to the humble and serene Rahane you'll meet off the green. The 27-year-old attributes this demeanor to his childhood in Ashwi KD, where his family gave up everything for him to play his beloved #sport. "I will never forget the sacrifices that my family made for me to be able to play cricket,” the player says. “They'd walk with me two hours each way to the training ground. My journey started from there. I don't just bat for my country, I bat for my family."
