Maserati Tour de Yorkshire Ride 2016

Comunicato Stampa disponibile solo in lingua originale.

On Sunday morning over 2,000 cyclists took part in the #maserati Tour de Yorkshire Ride. Amateur cyclists rode across 40km, 85km and 119km routes along many of the same steep and winding roads that the final leg of the Tour de Yorkshire pro ride took place on later that day.

This year’s participants were greeted with sunny skies and dry roads, a welcome change from the torrential downpours experienced the year previously.

All riders completed the #maserati King of the Mountains climb, replicating the timed mountain stages that are commonplace in professional races. The Cote de Harwood Dale climb challenged riders to post a time on the 1.3km long challenge that provided an average 7.6% gradient. #maserati cycling ambassador, David Millar posted the time to beat before the race, completing the climb in 3 minutes 58 seconds.

Peter Denton, Region Manager #maserati North Europe, said: “We’re delighted to be involved with the Tour de Yorkshire for a second consecutive year. The Ride was another fantastic #event for cycling in the #uk. I was very pleased that the weather held out this year, as it meant that the riders could really concentrate on absorbing the exciting atmosphere that this #event generates.

Maserati invited renowned cycling illustrator Richard Mitchelson along to bring the action to life with a series of custom illustrations. Richard is taking over the #maserati GB Instagram channel and will be posting his illustrations throughout the month of May.
