Spaniard defeats world record holder Arkano en route to freestyle rap crown.
Thousands of #people queued, many camping overnight, to get into the highly charged battle of the mics in #lima, and the performers did not disappoint.
And at the end of the day's vocal jousting it was Spain's #skone who came out on top with over 23,000 #people loving the contest.
The #event has been going on for over 10 years and continues to be massively popular.
This year, and for the first time in history, the most important world freestyle battle took place in #lima, where 16 Hispanic MCs from 11 Spanish-speaking countries competed for this big prize.
An enthusiastic and ready-for-the-action crowd of more than 23.000 fans, enjoyed every lyric and rhythm of the beats.
They lived a unique experience that honored the importance of this 10th edition. The most adventurous fans decided to camp through the night near the venue in La Costa Verde of San Miguel District, to ensure for themselves the best spots in this memorable #event.
Mbaka, an icon in the Spanish rap history, hosted the #event. DJ Verse, another classic, was on the stage too as well as a select group of judges including Mcklopedia (Venezuela), D-Toke (Argentina), JKE (Colombia), Hadrian (Mexico) and Hampper (Peru), who had the most difficult task: to choose only one champion.
The 16 competitors took advantage of current-affairs topics, such as the election of Donald Trump, and controversial celebrities. They fought until the last breath to win this Hispanic Hip Hop freestyle crown.
The support for the local competitors was strong, as expected, but not enough to beat Spanish #skone, who always was secure of himself.
He said, rhyming: “Guys, you need a helicopter to get me out of here. Today only the SWAT Team can stop me”.
Arkano, last year's champion, broke the world record of rapping for 24-hours straight earlier this month and was also on hand to watch the exhilirating skills on show.
