VR final awaits Doodle elite

Comunicato Stampa disponibile solo in lingua originale.

Latest edition of #redbulldoodleart underway this month in over 40 countries.

Red Bull Doodle Art 2017 has a unique twist with the national champions set to battle it out in virtual reality for a chance to win the ultimate prize.

In the previous editions, students around the world have relied on just pen and paper to create their best doodles for a chance to win the crown.

This time, more than 50,000 students from over 1,000 universities in over 40 countries will be whittled down based on their penmanship.

Once they begin the Global Final at the end of May, though, they will have to enter a virtual reality world and impress the judges in 3D.

Red Bull Doodle Art gives talented students a platform to translate their inspiration and imagination into art with no rules and no restrictions.

From mid March onwards, they can submit their doodles globally with fellow students voting online at www.redbulldoodleart.com to determine who wins each national title.

Ahead of the Global Final, the national champions will be coached in how to use the breathtaking virtual reality equipment with the final masterpieces exhibited at a Global Virtual Gallery for art lovers worldwide.

2014 winner Santanu Hazarika from India drew on hinduism and spirituality to beat a strong field in Cape Town, South Africa.

He explained, “Winning the #redbulldoodleart 2014 was a turn that I never expected my life would take. Winning made me more confident about my art and the direction that I was heading.

“I never went to any art school, or got any support from anyone. I taught myself how to draw. I had a tough time fighting for my art and #redbulldoodleart gave me the opportunity to showcase it to the world and now I'm a full time Illustrator/contemporary artist exploring my vision.

“I doodle every day! I have made it a habit to doodle every day no matter where I am and what I'm doing, and very soon I will be publishing a few books.”

What is a doodle?
An unfocused drawing made while the mind is otherwise occupied.
