The past weekend, #paris hosted the annual international basketball #competition Quai 54 #worldstreetballchampionship. The tournament fuels and celebrates all aspects of basketball culture by inspiring players, artists and basketball fans around the world since its inception in 2003.
Thousands of spectators enjoyed a weekend packed with world-class basketball games, high-energy music and dance performances at the Pelouse de Reuilly Park in central #paris. The tournament was stacked with teams from China to Mali, each looking to defeat defending champions Yard-La Relève from France, which had current NBA and Orlando Magic athlete Evan Fournier on its roster.
The highlight of the weekend was the dunk #competition, where four of the world’s greatest dunkers went head-to-head in front of an electrified crowd and a judging panel that included #jordan Brand NBA athletes Kemba Walker, Victor Oladipo and Jabari Parker.
The dunk contest athletes took to the court in the Jordan Super.Fly 2017. Utilizing new Nike React foam, the #superfly2017 optimizes cushioning across every footfall, making it the ideal match for the agile and explosive athletes taking flight in #paris.
Paris has a unique connection with #jordan Brand, evidenced by Michael Jordan’s visit to the city around the release of his first signature shoe in 1985, the opening of the #jordan Legacy Court in 2015 and the 2016 launch of #jordan Bastille, a pinnacle retail experience that celebrates the performance, style and soul of the brand and the first #jordan Brand store in Europe.
Parisian basketball fans brought their own flair to the Quai 54 experience with many spectators wearning the latest #jordan Brand and Quai 54 collection, featuring the tournament’s signature black paired with red and blue emblematic of #paris.
