MIES (Switzerland) - USA defend their spot atop the FIBA World Ranking Boys, presented by Nike, thanks to winning the FIBA U16 Americas Championship 2023 and reaching the Semi-Finals of the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup 2023.

USA eased to their eighth consecutive undefeated U16 continental tournament in Merida, Mexico to qualify for the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2024. The Americans finished fourth at the FIBA U19 World Cup 2023, missing out on the podium for the first time since the FIBA U19 World Cup in 2011. USA Basketball is still dominating the FIBA World Ranking Boys with a comfortable margin.

Spain once again are ranked second in the world, jumping from 722.6 points to 745.9. The Spanish ended a 24-year drought and claimed their second FIBA U19 World Cup title following 1999 while also winning the FIBA U16 European Championship 2023 and taking second place at the FIBA U18 European Championship 2023.

France are still No. 3 with 732.7 points after finishing second at the FIBA U19 World Cup 2023, third at the U16 European tournament and fourth at the U18 European level in the summer of 2023.

Following France at No. 4 once again is Australia (690.6) with Serbia jumping one spot to fifth with 690.1 points. The Serbians won the title at the U18 European Championship 2023 and were sixth at the FIBA U19 World Cup 2023.

Turkiye move up two spots to number 6 with 686 points following their third placed finish at the FIBA U19 World Cup this year, a result matching their greatest achievement in this competition.

The biggest mover in the Top 25 is Germany, who shot up 12 spots to No. 10 thanks to finishing third at the U18 European Championship for their first ever podium finish at the tournament and fifth place at the U16 European Championship.

Brazil climb two spots to No. 11 right behind Germany as they won four games despite finishing 11th at the U19 World Cup - the country's first appearance in that event since 2013. Greece went up two spots to 12th after top 8 finishes at the U16 and U18 continental level. And Puerto Rico finished third at the FIBA U16 Americas Championship 2023 to move up six spots in the standings to No. 15.

Just outside the Top 25 is Guinea, who take the second-biggest leap in the rankings, moving 17 points up to No. 26. That is the result of the country sensationally winning the FIBA U16 African Championship 2023 to qualify for the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2024 for the first time.

The nation with the biggest climb was Hungary, who rose 23 spots to No. 40. The Europeans hosted the FIBA U19 World Cup and won two games at the event and also finished fifth at the FIBA U16 European Championship 2023, Division B - their best finish since 2012.
