Nissan scores at the 2016 UK Sponsorship Awards

  • Nissan scoop the ESA International Sponsorship Award for their partnership with UEFA Champions League at the 2016 UK Sponsorship Awards 

 

  • The award, sponsored by the European Sponsorship Association, recognises Nissan’s global success since launching their partnership with the UEFA Champions League in 2014 

 

LONDON 31st March, 2016 – Japanese car manufacturer #nissan is celebrating after scooping the ESA (European Sponsorship Association) International Sponsorship Award for their partnership with the UEFA Champions League, at this year’s UK Sponsorship Awards which took place in London on Tuesday 22ndMarch.

 

Nissan and sponsorship agency Fuse Sport & Entertainment beat off #competition on the night to be crowned winners just two years after announcing their partnership with UEFA – Nissan’s largest sponsorship deal. The award recognized the impact #nissan had within key markets globally during their first season. 

 

Commenting on Nissan’s victory, Vice President for Marketing #nissan Europe Jean-Pierre Diernaz said: “After announcing our partnership with the UEFA Champions League in 2014, our challenge at #nissan was to create an integrated campaign that could be activated globally, deliver a strong business impact and bring to life Nissan’s core pillars of ‘Innovation and Excitement’.

 

The UEFA Champions League is the world’s largest annual sporting #event, watched by a cumulative audience of 4.3 billion people globally, so this sponsorship has provided us access to some of the most passionate football fans in the world. Through our sponsorship and access to exclusive assets such as ‘Goal of the Week’, we have seen substantial increases in awareness and purchase intent, as well as football fans increasingly perceiving #nissan as an innovative and exciting brand. During the 2014/15 season, #nissan was recognised as the most active UEFA Champions League #sponsor in the history of the #competition, with 643 activations approved in over 90 countries around the world. As on official partner, #nissan has global rights to matches, social media content, media, hospitality, events and the final.
