Angelique Kerber is fit for Wimbledon

Suttgart. Angelique Kerber has prepared intensively in Mallorca’s sun for the Grand Slam tournament in #wimbledon (27 June to 10 July) and is highly confident going into the year’s biggest #tennis major. “I love playing on grass and #wimbledon is my favourite tournament by far. I’m really looking forward to it,” said the #porsche Brand Ambassador and Australian Open winner during the course of filming for a #porsche commercial at Düsseldorf’s Rochusclub. Who her first opponent will be will made known when the draw is made in London on Friday, 24 June at 10.00 a.m. local time. After reaching the third round in 2014 and the quarterfinals in 2015, she is aiming high this time around in the suburb in the south west of the city. She showed just how well she can play on grass in 2015 when winning the #wimbledon dress rehearsal in Birmingham.

Together with her coach Torben Beltz, #angeliquekerber travelled to Düsseldorf straight from Mallorca. The German No. 1, who in April won the #porsche #tennis Grand Prix for the second time in Stuttgart, had little time for relaxation on the Spanish holiday island. “We practiced hard on grass. Despite the rigours, it was a whole lot of fun and was for sure the perfect preparation,” she said. “I feel good and my shoulder is no longer troubling me. I’m 100 per cent fit for #wimbledon.”

In a making-of-video produced during the filming of the commercial, #angeliquekerber and Torben Beltz speak about the preparations for #wimbledon and the significance of the world’s most prestigious tournament.
