Antonio Cairoli wins the first round of International
MX Series in MX1 and Supercampione class. Jorge prado is victorious in MX2
Riola Sardo (Italy), 27 January 2019 – Great success for
Pirelli in the first round of the
"International MX Series" which was hosted at
Riola Sardo in Sardinia. On the difficult and demanding
"Le Dune" sandy track, the riders equipped by the Italian brand were able to count on the excellent performance of the
SCORPION™ MX32™ Mid Soft front and the SCORPION MX™ Soft rear tyres.
In addition to the victory in
MX2 class with the defending Wolrd Champion
Jorge Prado, Pirelli’s tyres monopolized the podium in
MX1 with
Antonio Cairoli, who dominated the race followed by
Romain Febvre and
Tim Gajser.
Pirelli’s superiority was also confirmed in
Supercampione final, a race that saw the top 20 classified in
MX1 and
MX2 classes match up. Once again
Antonio Cairoli was peerless as he fronted the race from the first lap until the last. Behind him was an excellent performance by
Tim Gajser in second, followed by
Jorge Prado who managed to take his KTM 250 SX-F to third position against many 450s.
Romain Febvre finished in fifth place despite a fall on the first lap that forced him to charge hard through the field.
Next weekend the riders will tackle the second round of the
International MX Series which will be hosted by the
Ottobiano circuit, placed near Milan.
