Garforth, UK - 16 November 2020: British motorsport brand Ginetta has today unveiled a new 2021 Championship structure, offering some of the finest prize packages in motorsport, supporting the career aspirations of talented drivers. When combined, the total prize fund on offer from Ginetta across its category disciplines is £400,000. 

Ginetta has a global reputation for nurturing talent and helping those at all experience levels thrive with one of the most successful and proven driver development programmes in racing. Its alumni boasts many notable household names, such as Britain's F1 star, Lando Norris, W Series champion Jamie Chadwick and BTCC racer Tom Ingram. 

At Ginetta's core is a racing ladder which provides a race car and championship for every level, from juniors and those looking to start their racing careers, experienced drivers looking to develop through to pro drivers wanting to progress to the highest levels in the sport.  

Ginetta has helped develop drivers and their focus on a route to international motorsport platforms and encourages aspiring drivers of all ages and disciplines to succeed with its two main championship routes in 2021. 

The GT4 Supercup, Ginetta's flagship #competition series, using the G55 GT4 Supercup car, is designed for those who want to compete at the highest level. For 2021, the top prize for the pro class of Ginetta's flagship series includes a fully funded seat on the 2022 grid, arguably one of motorsports most prestigious prize packages today. 

Ginetta's unrivalled prize package is a statement of intent to develop drivers, in addition to ensuring all get a seamless transition through multi-marque racing categories, by delivering an affordable offer on its cars and utilising its experienced team to nurture talent through its instructors, track days, simulator and on-site test track facility. Its championships exist to ensure that drivers can gain the relevant experience to route in to all levels of motorsport.


The jam-packed motorsport calendar that Ginetta is bringing in 2021, offers a series that is inclusive of all disciplines and ages, starting from the Juniors, a series for 14 to 17-year olds, to the GT4 Supercup and GT5 Challenge series, of which offer professional, pro-amateur and rookie classes for drivers.

For those looking for a more refined approach to motorsport, Ginetta also offers the GT Academy. This series is made up to feature amateur drivers of all experiences in the G55 GTA which is a car that offers everything a driver needs to experience entry level GT racing with uncompromising capabilities. First place in the series can look forward to fully funded entry into a Ginetta Championship in 2022. All series are renowned for delivering thrilling wheel-to-wheel racing on iconic circuits and boasts some of the most talented drivers racing in same-spec cars.

The Pro Journey

Series Brief

Ginetta Juniors – A nine-weekend series for 14 to 17-year olds and is widely recognised as one of the most watched competitions in the UK on the touring car package. Excelling in this championship in the G40 Junior car is a good barometer for future success.

Series Brief

GT Pro – A nine-weekend series using the G55 GT Pro car on the back of the Supercup grid on the Touring car circuit. The series is designed for 16 to 21-year olds with a view to keep people in Ginetta through to Supercup. The car, like the GTA is on a road tyre but has 300bhp rather than 270bhp. Drivers can get used to paddle shift and a bigger car before stepping into a GT4 Supercup.

Series Brief

GT4 Supercup – An eight-weekend series using the G55 GT4 Supercup car on the Touring car package. Classes include Pro, Pro-Am and Am. The series is designed for those who want to race a professional race car on slick or wet tyres and are preparing to compete at the highest level of motorsport in multi-marque GT racing.

Series Brief

GT5 Challenge – A seven-weekend series racing in front of G40 Cup, the GT5 is a G40 car with sequential gearbox and both slick and wet weather tyres. Racing five weekends on British GT calendar, and two weekends on Touring Car Package.  GT5 cars help refine and hone in capabilities in a powerful car to help progress on a career in top tier motorsport.

The Independent Journey

Series Brief

GT Academy – The GT Academy is aimed squarely at those who want to have fun in a competitive and efficient race car or who are at the start of a journey towards GT / LMP racing. This series uses the G55 GTA car on road tyres. The series does not allow pro drivers to enter.  The main class is set to feature amateur drivers of all experience levels, with a Rookie class for first year drivers. The series will be held across five weekends, with four on British GT calendar and the other with the Touring Car package.
