Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team lands at unseen Spanish circuit of Navarra

The Evan Bros. #WorldSSP Yamaha Team is set to tackle the sixth round of the 2021 #WorldSSP Championship this weekend at the #navarra circuit, in northern Spain. The Iberian track represents a new addition to the World Supersport Championship calendar, which the reigning World Champion team were able to partially discover in May, when they took part with #stevenodendaal in the second round of the ESBK season.

The South African rider was able to start familiarising himself with the circuit's 15 corners as part of his recovery from his right shoulder injury suffered in March. Nearly three months and five rounds later Steven arrives at #navarra on the strength of his four wins to date, the last of which came at Most, and in second position in the overall standings, with 170 points.
For #petersebestyen Friday's FP1 will be his first ever session at #navarra, to get to know the track. The Hungarian rider performed well in the last round, achieving his first top ten finish in Race 1, and is looking for a step forward in Spain, both in terms of set-up and results.
The Evan Bros. #WorldSSP Yamaha Team occupies third position in the team standings with 185 points. The weekend at #navarra will start as usual on Friday with the first two free practice sessions. Saturday will be time for the Superpole and Race 1, while Sunday Race 2 will complete the weekend's programme. As for Italy, the Superpole and the two races will be visible live on Sky Sport MotoGP, channel 208 of Sky.

WEEKEND TIMETABLE - SUPERSPORT
Friday 11.25 - 12.10 FP1 16.00 - 16.45 FP2
Saturday 10.25 - 10.45 Superpole 15.15 - Race 1 (20 laps)
Sunday 09.25 - 09.40 Warm up 12.30 - Race 2 (20 laps)

Steven Odendaal: "I'm very positive and confident ahead of the weekend. In the last round we understood some useful things, which I think will help us to make some progress in terms of set-up. #navarra is an interesting track, which certainly still has some secrets to discover: the objective is to try to win, giving our best from start to the end".
Peter Sebestyen: "Navarra is a new track for me, but the fact that the team has tested it before will certainly help me. My main objective is to continue working on the set-up of the bike, to make it more and more suitable to my riding style: doing kilometres is the best way to improve, so I am very confident for the round”.
Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal): "Navarra is a demanding track, but we will be able to rely on the data collected during the ESBK round we took part in with Odendaal. I'm optimistic about the weekend, which we will tackle without tactics and with the aim of making up points towards the top of the championship. Sebestyen doesn't know the track, so every session will be useful to get to know it: I'm sure he can do well, fighting as he did at Most for a place in the top ten".
