A positive start for Oettl and Oncu at the Mandalika track

The final round of the Supersport World Championship is now underway for #kawasakipuccettiracing at the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit in #indonesia. A brand-new track that was only inaugurated this morning by the WorldSSP riders, the first category to take to the track.
Can #oncu and Philipp #oettl began the first practice session with the aim of learning the new layout and finding the best set-up for their Kawasaki ZX-6R bikes. The Turk was immediately one of the fastest and finished FP1 in fifth place with a time of 1'39"568. The German made a more cautious start, setting a best of 1'40"403 to place eleventh.
During the afternoon's second session, both #kawasakipuccettiracing riders made progress. #oettl proved to be the quickest of the pair and closed in seventh place with a 1'37"592. A time of 1'37"971 saw #oncu round out day one in eleventh place.
Tomorrow the team will compete in Superpole and the first of the weekend's two races.
