5 ways nike takes on winter

Each season, #nike designers find new ways to enable thermoregulation, helping athletes run and train longer without distraction. Innovations such as #dwr (durable, water-resistant) coating, new traction patterns and improved #nike Tech Fleece — in addition to bold, new apparel silhouettes — make the Holiday 2016 collection essential for those wanting to avoid the winter elements in style.
Below are five examples of how #nike innovates for winter, with more footwear and apparel being revealed in the coming weeks.
NEW LASER-SIPED OUTSOLE PATTERNS
The #nike LunarEpic Flyknit Shield features a new water-resistant Flyknit upper and traction-enhancing, laser-siped outsole inspired by the pattern and tread of car tires. The new pattern serves to increase surface area, repel water and further maximize traction, helping athletes complete longer runs in challenging weather conditions.
It's now available on #nike.com in men's and women's sizes.
DWR COATING ON APPAREL
This season's #nike Tech Fleece Aeroloft collection continues to fuse #nike Tech Fleece and Aeroloft technologies, resulting in garments that adjust to the wearer’s body temperature through laser-cut perforations in between down chambers. This season has new #dwr (durable, water-resistant) coating, thicker #nike Tech Fleece and fuller goose down-filled #nike Aeroloft.
The #nike Tech Fleece AeroLoft Parka has a higher collar—adjustable through a new pair of zippers—and a roomier, down-filled hood to protect the wearer’s upper body from inclement weather.
It's now available on #nike.com for men and women.
DURABLE, WATER-RESISTANT FOOTWEAR
In addition to this season's #nike Techfleece Aeroloft collection, the current #nike Sneakerboots also feature #dwr coating in styles that update the #nike Presto and #nike Lupinek.
available on #nike.com in men's and women's sizes.
QUICKBURST® ZIPPER TECHNOLOGY
The body of the #nikelab Gyakusou Zipoff Aeroloft Jacket features #nike Aeroloft technology, which delivers warmth while also enabling thermoregulation. It achieves this by retaining heat until the body begins to produce its own; once that occurs, excess heat and moisture are driven from the garment through strategically placed laser-cut perforations.
The sleeves employ Quickburst® zipper technology, which enable the runner to effortlessly remove the sleeves, transforming the jacket to a vest. The back pocket is large enough to store the sleeves, allowing the runner to continue his or her run with zero distraction.
It will be available on #nike.com/nikelab for men and women beginning November 10.
HYPERWARM TRAINING GEAR
The #nike Pro Hyperwarm Aeroloft training top unites HyperWarm fabric with Aeroloft and Dri-FIT technology, offering warmth without sacrificing breathability. Down chambers exist on the chest and shoulders for heat where you need it most during a workout.
It's now available on #nike.com for men. A full selection of Hyperwarm apparel is also available for women.
