Adverse conditions are inherent to football. Rain, cold and wind are inevitable challenges on match day, and therefore training sessions as well. #nike Football’s new training apparel is designed to help players weather the storm at full speed.
The new #nike Shield Strike Drill Top features #nike Shield Technology and is 40% lighter than its predecessor. To combat rainy conditions, which can weigh down training tops, the garment features #nike Hypershield along the shoulders and upper arms. Typically, waterproofing a garment comes at the expense of breathability as the same ventilation that lets air flow through would also let water in. Nike’s design team navigated this dilemma by strategically placing #nike Hypershield where needed and applying a supplementary DWR coating throughout the garment to bead water and facilitate run off. An extended 25cm zipper and mesh underarms further prioritize breathability to avoid overheating. The top also has a bonded mesh underside to help keep the garment from clinging against the player’s skin.
The #nike Shield Drill Top is constructed with a four-way stretch fabrication for unrestricted athletic movements. The garment also features raglan sleeves and the same premium thumb loops found in Nike’s Gyakusou collections.
The new #nike Strike Pant with Flex Technology is 11% lighter, 50% more breathable and has 80% more stretch than its predecessor. The pant also has a DWR finish for protection against the elements. Most striking, its unique construction displays an accent color when flexed for a head-turning chameleon effect.
